The Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County is seeking a Director of External Affairs who, Reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is responsible for planning and directing comprehensive external and internal communication and social media strategies, community-wide awareness activities, and managing legislative issues to inform and gain the support of key stakeholders, as well as promote the public image of the Board and a Recovery Oriented System of Care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual to work for a quasi-independent part of county government, which is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board has the legal responsibility and authority for the provision of mental health and addiction treatment and recovery services and contracts with provider agencies to deliver services that assist clients on the road to recovery. |

Minimum Qualifications for this position are:
• Bachelor’s Degree in communication, marketing, human relations or the equivalent.
• Five years of communication experience.
• Proven ability to develop and direct social media, governmental relations, marketing and public relations.
• Knowledge of the community; ability to understand behavioral health issues; ability to develop strong external relationships.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to function independently, attend to detail, work under pressure and posses the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Creative individual with strong public relations skills. Professional appearance, attitude and motivation essential. |
