Work Week: This is a ten-month (175-day) faculty position eligible for tenure after the fourth year of successful employment.

Minimum Salary: $69,813.80 annually

Maximum Salary: $118,672.93 annually (maximum entry $85,525.04 per year)

Benefits:

Medical, dental and employee assistance plans are provided for the employee and dependents. The District also provides life insurance plans for the employee, as well as an 8.25% contribution to the State Teacher’s Retirement plan. Additional types of insurance may be purchased with pre-tax dollars through an IRS 125 flexible benefit program.

Basic Function:

Under the Dean of Allied Health and the Director of the Health Information Technology the successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of Health Information Technology and other Allied Health as needed.
The assignment will be made based on the successful applicant's experience, background, and institutional need. The primary assignment for Health Information Technology courses will be in an online format, but the assignment could consist of other modalities: face to face and hybrid, as well as teaching at the main college campus, other campus or clinical education locations and day, evening or weekend classes, distance learning and multimedia teaching modalities.
Other duties include: participation in student recruitment and articulation of programs for the Allied Health department; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and multimedia technology; assessing student learning and program learning outcomes; collegial participation in department, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Any Bachelors degree
• Valid certification as a Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator
• At least two (2) years professional experience
• Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities

Desirable Qualifications:

• Record of successful teaching experience and Program development at a Community College.
• Successful teaching of ICD -10 & CPT courses
• Experience with Canvas or other online learning management system

Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
