As an AppleCare Interactive Web Programmer/Developer on the Training team, you will create innovative and compelling web-based, interactive multimedia training solutions that meet the vision and requirements of instructional designers and curriculum managers. These solutions can range from independent training interactions to reusable media templates to complete media- development applications. You’ll work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment that has tight deadlines and minimal supervision and demands high quality, creativity, and consistency.

This position can be based in Cupertino, CA or Austin, TX.

Description:
The Interactive Training Web Developer is expected to do the following:
• Develop and maintain proprietary JavaScript/XML engine used to deliver interactive content on the web
• Develop and maintain front-end tools (web/native apps) which enable fast prototyping of interactive content (native JavaScript, XML, HTML)
• Work with instructional designers and curriculum managers to ensure media decisions align with project-timeline milestones
• Based on experience, contribute suggestions to instructional designers regarding multimedia learning solutions (technology, visual/information design, interactivity)
• Provide regular status updates to project teams, stakeholders, and management; summarize project progress, issues, key points, and required actions
• Ensure that media and tools adhere to Apple visual design standards
• Review assigned media, including graphics, audio, video, and interactive elements
• Perform training-driven updates and correct technical problems identified through student feedback
• Travel occasionally
Skills:  
Key Qualifications:
•Excellent programming skills combined with visual communication skills to present ideas and information in a multimedia context
•Strong experience developing web-based interactive learning content using native JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, XML
•Experience developing web-based authoring tools to aid in the rapid development of interactive web-based content (node.js/PHP/etc.)
•Well-versed in visual, interactive and information design disciplines
•High level of proficiency using Photoshop and Illustrator
•Proven organizational, time-management, and project-management skills
•Ability to gather, define, and document project requirements and scope
•Ability to create a coherent and unified user experience across deliverables
•Ability to work in a collaborative, flexible, team environment and meet aggressive timelines
•Portfolio demonstrating examples of work

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience developing web applications using modern frameworks (jQuery, React.js, Angular.js, etc.)
• Experience working with SCORM 1.2/SCORM 2004/TinCan APIs
• Experience developing native applications (Cocoa, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Java)
• Experience developing accessible web content and applications
• Knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design 
methodologies for classroom-based, self-guided, and virtual training
• Experience deploying interactive learning content on mobile platforms
• Familiarity with single-sourcing concepts and learning content management principles
• Experience developing for the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), stack (OSGI, JCR/OAK, Sling), and Sightly/HTL/JSP
• Experience using Git

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in addition to 3-5 years work experience in programming and multimedia development. Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
