Minimum Salary: $5,816.84 per month

Maximum Salary: $8,219.05 per month (Maxinum Entry $5,816.84)

Location: DO-KCCD Bakersfield Downtown

Basic Function:

KCCD is looking for an experienced PHP web developer that has experience developing for, deploying applications to, managing, and troubleshooting the LAMP stack. The ideal candidate has experience developing for and using the Drupal content management system, has experience with git version control, and some experience in devops/system administration work(Unix command line, bash scripting, caching systems, mysql database administration, etc.)

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, responsible for the analysis, design, programming, testing, support, installation and maintenance of web-based applications developed in-house and/or by a third party; responsible for integrating various systems with web applications.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or related field AND three years experience with web programming/development.

Note: Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.

Knowledge and Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Advanced knowledge of HTML , CSS and JavaScript.
• Programming languages intended for web development such as ASP , ASP .net, PHP , Java, etc.
• Principles and techniques of computer programming, systems analysis, data processing and programming documentation.
• JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery.
• Managing and using a Content Management System
Structured Query Language (SQL ).
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and Unix operating systems.
• Version Control Systems.
• Page layout and design of web pages.
• Web project management, structured design techniques, information architecture and usability as it relates to the web.
• ADA law, regulations and compliance requirements.

ABILITY TO:

• Develop, implement and manage the college web site.
• Provide assistance and technical support to faculty, staff and students in association with the web site.
• Operate various software programs in the development and maintenance of the web site.
• Operate various hardware equipment including scanners, digital camera, printers and others.
• Work with server software.
• Train users effectively.
• Prepare and maintain records and files.
• Work independently with little direction.
• Prioritize and schedule work.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Salary Grade: 51.5
