Acting/Directing Specialist
The Department of Theatre Arts at Eastern Illinois University seeks an Assistant
Professor to teach in the acting program beginning fall 2010.
The successful candidate will become a member of an active Department of Theatre Arts located within the College of Arts and Humanities. The Department of Theatre Arts consists of eight faculty, three staff and 60 majors and minors. This position will be responsible for: Teaching in and coordinating the acting/directing sequence; general education and teaching in an area of specialty as needed within the departmental structure. The opportunity to direct at least one production annually is available depending upon qualifications. Contribution to departmental activities and committees is expected. Full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant
Professor. MFA, PhD or equivalent professional experience of 3-5 years minimum expected. Additional training or expertise in dance/movement/musical theatre will be considered a plus.
