ASSISTANT PROFESSOR/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, TENURE TRACK - ETHNIC STUDIES

Saint Mary’s College of California invites applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor position in Ethnic Studies. The position will transition to include Program Director responsibilities. Ethnic Studies at Saint Mary’s College is an interdisciplinary program for the critical analysis of race, ethnicity, class, and gender in national and transnational contexts. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions. We are seeking a candidate dedicated to innovative scholarship, liberatory pedagogy, and community engagement. The College is committed to supporting social justice education, serves many first-generation college students, and embraces a student-centered and multicultural vision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• The candidate should possess a doctorate and have demonstrable scholarly achievement and teaching experience focused on race and ethnic studies in the United States or in a transnational context that includes the United States.
• Area of specialty is open.
• Candidates with program development experience are preferred.
