The annual Girl Scout cookie program is the largest girl-led business in the world. It is also the way that Girl Scouts fund their activities and contributions to their communities. Like the Girl Scout program itself, these Cookie Cupboard roles are both an opportunity to earn money and to be part of this fun, exciting, and memorable annual event in the lives of Girl Scouts in your community.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (“GSEMA”) has an opening for the temporary, part-time position of Cookie Cupboard Manager, located at the Middleboro Cookie Cupboard. This position will report to the Senior Director of Product Program & Retail or Product Program Manager.

The Cookie Cupboard Manager is responsible for managing cookie inventory, directing the daily activities of Cookie Cupboard Staff, and for ensuring that the Cupboard team delivers client service excellence during the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program. Each Cupboard has one manager and multiple staff. All roles are customer-facing and involve processing and filling cookie orders (counted in cases of cookies, each containing twelve packages) for troop volunteers and staff running council organized Girl Scout programs.

This is a temporary, part-time position (up to 32 hours per week) effective November 22, 2021 – March 18, 2022.

Hours: Must be able to work the established Cupboard schedule for position and location for the duration of the cookie program (November 22, 2021- March 18, 2022).

Each Cupboard has its own schedule; most Cupboards are open Monday through Friday 10-4 and Saturday mornings. One evening a week may also be required. Working hours may be up to 32 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
• Use the cookie program database (vendor-specific software; training provided) to track and fill orders.
• Oversee and direct the daily activities of Cookie Cupboard Staff.
• Take calls from volunteers about their orders, address changes and/ or adjustments.
• Pull cases of cookies from pallets of cookies delivered by delivery agent several times a week.
• Work with the delivery agent to stock the cupboard with the incoming cookie deliveries.
• Organize and reorganize the stock in the cupboard.
• Manage and report Cookie Cupboard inventory daily.
• Fill individual cookie orders for volunteers and staff.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
• Work positively with the Product Program team to make the Cookie Cupboard a fun and pleasant environment for volunteers and family members picking up cookies.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Must have a positive attitude, customer service experience, and the ability to quickly learn software programs and use them accurately and efficiently.
• Must be able to multi-task effectively under pressure.
• Qualified candidates will be dependable problem solvers, be able to meet deadlines, and provide outstanding customer service with a cheerful and helpful attitude.
• Computer proficiency and accuracy, keyboard skills, data entry skills, and experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) are required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Girl Scout experience is a plus.

Work Environment: Cupboard managers and staff are often exposed to cold weather for extended periods of time and must dress appropriately for various winter weather conditions. Will have prolonged periods of standing and moving/lifting cases of cookies.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and be able to move and pack cases of cookies to assist volunteers, families, and staff with loading and unloading cars, vans, and storage areas, indoors and out.
